He vivido siendo un huevo debajo del agua, mi madre me colocó allí después del cortejo de mi padre, un macho que defendió su territorio en esta charca y cortejó a mi madre con una exhibición que pronto aprenderé yo.
He pasado años siendo una larva bajo esta charca y en ese tiempo he aprendido muchas cosas. Me alimenté de larvas de mosquitos hasta que he estado preparada para metamorfearme en un adulto. Es entonces cuando pude subir al aire por una caña, ir más allá y convertirme en la libélula que ahora soy.
Sólo mido 20 milímetros pero tengo dos alas transparentes que cambian de color según la luz que se refleje en ellas. Así, según el ángulo, se refleja mi propio yo. Estas alas me permiten estar en equilibrio, que para eso tengo ya una edad.
Tengo dos grandísimos ojos con los que veo más allá de las limitaciones de mi mente.
Como viviré poco tiempo, he aprendido a vivir la vida al máximo, viviré el momento, siendo consciente de quién soy y haciendo lo que más me gusta hacer.
¡Mira! Por allí viene alguien, creo que quiere algo de mí o hacerme una fotografía, lo veo bien con mis grandes ojos. Es una mujer, yo no pico a los humanos, es más, me caen bien y ellos hasta se hacen adornos con mi forma y creen que verme les da suerte. Además, hemos convivido siempre juntos.
¡Ojalá los humanos aprendan tanto como yo!

Mental and emotional maturity
I have lived being an egg under the water, my mother placed me there after the courship of my father, a male who defended his territory in this pool and courted my mother with an exhibition of flight.
I have been a larva for many years and in this time I have learned many things. I fed of larvas of mosquitos until I have been prepared to turn into an adult, climb up a cane to come out of the water and turn into the dragonfly that today I am.
I measure only 20 millimetres, but I have two transparent wings that change colour according to the light that is reflected in them. These wings allow me to be in balance now that I am old enough.
I have two big eyes with wich I see beyond the limitations of my mind.
As I will live for a very short time, I have learned to live life to the maximun, to live the moment, being conscious of whom I am and doing what I want to do.
Look! Someone is coming, I believe that it wants something of me or to take a photograph of me; I can see it well with my big eyes. She is a woman, I do not bite human beings, in fact, I like them; they even think that seeing me brings them luck. And we have always lived together.
I will now continue on my way, flying non-stop until my hour comes.
